The bone with tumor has been replace, the doctors operate him for 20cm long below his knee and took about 7 hours to accomplished. They showed us the bone with tumor but actually I wasn’t there so they show it to my parent and whoever there in that time. So be well soon kimi! I will visit him tomorrow and as usual he ask me to bring some games (but I got only old nintendo games, offline AI DotA) to play during his rest time. If you have unused PSP, feel free to post to me.

IE8 great improvement, Firefox3 rocKING

Filed under: linux & unix — neo @ 6:24 pm

Great! MS Internet Explorer (IE) become one of a standard compliant browser out of the box. It is a must-have / upgrade for all users that use IE before besides developers or designers. Now IE 8 has a good developer tool for web developer that can define div positioning for a web nicely like firebug (firefox addon). I’m using IE8 for about a month and IE8 seems improve greatly. Nice loading speed, nice interface and GUI. Besides, IE team also improve IE security. Test it by yourself.  I just wondering if IE8 includes IE6 emulation button (only IE7 emulation) for developer test out their website div positioning. For the time being, to test fix positioning problem, I load another XP with IE6 in VMware and fix it out. I highly recomended to upgrade to IE8 for all users especially IE lovers.

What about Firefox3 ? the new navigation bar are matured and cool. The speed is simpler faster than before. My eyes of skadi found not much different between the previous version but according to their website,  this version is the best Firefox version yet with more than 15,000 improvements, Firefox 3 is faster, safer and smarter than ever before. Cool! and off course if there any upgrade of Firefox, please download and install it because Firefox is free and fully customizable perhaps it is the best. If i’m not wrong, on the day they released this version, they set a Guinness World Record for the most software downloaded in 24 hours that reached over 8 million downloads just in 24 hours. Cool, give a clap for ourselves.

VMware VS VirtualBox

Filed under: linux & unix — neo @ 1:49 am

I’ve tried VMware player and VMware ACE Workstation on Windows XP before. Both work fine but for the player, you only can run VMware appliances and for the Workstation, you can create means install any OS from zero to be an appliance and also run appliances on it. I’ve run Ubuntu 8.04, Open BSD, Hercules LB, etc on it and they run smoothly. Pay a visit VMware appliances site, there are many ready to use appliances there. You can play, do work, install other software on it just like a real one.

I didn’t try VirtualBox yet, but a friend loaded Windows XP in Ubuntu Linux with it and working as normal. So whoever want to run Adobe Photoshop CS3 or Internet Explorer 8 in Linux, just install this great virtual boxes.

They work like a real PC / server  with network, CD ROM and both available in Linux or Windows. Great to test up network / server configuration.

Ops, just forget about the title above, seem both boxes are great!
